Solar Ash Kingdom, the Second Game From Hyper Light Drifter Team, Should Receive Full Console Release

Solar Ash Kingdom, the second game from Hyper Light Drifter developer Heart Machine, will receive full console support.

Hype has been surrounding the small Los Angeles-based studio since yesterday’s announcement of Solar Ash Kingdom, with fans hitting the developer’s social media with questions. A common question centred around console releases, which Heart Machine openly answered on Twitter:

While this news does promise a console release, its wording implies console support will likely come after the PC release.

For those who missed the reveal, Solar Ash Kingdom is, in the developer’s words, “a surreal, vivid and highly stylised world filled with mystery, wild high-speed traversal, endearing characters, and massive enemy encounters.”

On paper, Solar Ash Kingdom appears to have some stylistic overlap with Hyper Light Drifter. The art style in the trailer, too, hits the same neon-tinged notes as the studio’s debut.
