Sonic 3 & Knuckles Mod Brings Widescreen and 60 FPS Support

A massive new mod of the classic Genesis game Sonic the Hedgehog 3 & Knuckles is now available.

The mod is built off the Steam version of Sonic & Knuckles 3, meaning that game is needed to play the port. The new version is made to not be restricted by the specifications and processes of the Sega Genesis/Mega Drive, allowing 60 frames-per-second gameplay and widescreen support.

The fan remake, titled Sonic 3 A.I.R. (short for Sonic 3 Angel Island Revisited) brings in many new features while staying true to the original, such as a time attack mode, widescreen support, xBRZ pixel filter, as well as movement options including Tails Assist and Flight Cancel.

A remastered soundtrack by DJSpindash is included in the game.

The official release and download links were shared on Twitter by user Eukaryot3K. Check out the tweet below.

Gearbox: Borderlands 3 Will Support Cross-Play Post Launch

Published

In a recent reveal from Gearbox, Borderlands 3 was confirmed to eventually support cross-platform play.

The news came from Gearbox CEO, Randy Pitchford, via Twitter in response to fan speculation earlier in the week. While the team is looking into ways of introducing cross-play to Borderlands 3, the much-desired feature will not be available at launch. Pitchford did not disclose what timeframe players can expect to receive support.

The tweet arrived before the release of a fun musical “So Happy Together” trailer (below). The video did not show anything in terms of gameplay, though, the theme of togetherness coinciding with the cross-play news was a nice touch.

Recently, Gearbox shared some screenshots of the game’s world, so be sure to check those out here.
