Today’s track is from The Darkness II, one of last year’s most colorful and surprising releases that nevertheless went under the radar.

The track, which doesn’t have a title and will simply be called “Main Theme” for now, plays during the game’s title screen. It’s a gloomy and foreboding piece thanks to its cold use of instruments and haunting vocals, making one feel as if they’re truly enveloped in a depressing darkness. Late in the track, there’s a also a nice reprieve where the mood becomes warmer and more hopeful, providing a sense of redemption that fits Jackie’s quest in the game beautifully. Have a listen below and let us know what you think!

The track was composed by Timothy Michael Wynn, who has also done the scores for games like Command & Conquer: Red Alert 3, Warhawk, and Red Faction: Guerrilla. You can check out his site here.
