Starpoint Gemini Warlords 2.0 Update Features Huge Redesigns

0

LGM Games’s space sim Starpoint Gemini Warlords has recieved a huge update, which includes an entire redesign of the Diplomacy feature, along with some serious polish on the remainder of the gameplay.

The major rehaul is for the Diplomacy feature, where the AI factions have new multiple scenario reactions to player infrastructure, development, research, and asset use.

AI will now attack players upon Declaration of War, and opposing factions will now want players to attack other factions, which adds some much needed complexity for opposing factions. Overall, the Diplomacy change adds depth to the system, allowing for the AI to react to more nuanced player choices.  Alongside the Diplomacy change, the 2.0 update includes changes to engine optimisation, GPU-related crashes, and other related technical matters.

In a statement, Nikola Jukic, lead script and project manager for Starpoint Gemini Warlords, said: “Starpoint Gemini Warlords is a great game on its own, although players always wanted to have more abilities and more options when it comes to diplomacy with the other factions. That is why we wanted to do a complete diplomacy overhaul for the game, from the ground up. Of course, this isn’t something that happens overnight. Diplomacy overhaul was a lengthy process. We had to break things apart, put a lot of updates and fixes in the middle, and put them back together to make everything work as intended.”

The update is free for all Starpoint Gemini Warlords users, with the title currently on sale on Steam until April 29, along with the rest of the Starpoint franchise.
