The biggest new title from Microsoft, Sunset Overdrive, plans to release later in the year, and thanks to its unique art style and gameplay it stands to become a beautiful game. According to Insomniac Games, the game might look even better before it releases in October.

GamingBolt was able to interview lead writer John Paquette and Brand developer director Ryan Schneider, about how they are using the new June SDK update and the GPU increase from the Kinect-less SKU. Talking about the update, they revealed that developers will be able to increase the number of character and particle effects on the screen, and then went on in further detail,

“For us it’s really more about pushing the number of characters on the screen and particles in the game. If you play the game you will see there are a lot of things that are happening on the screen. It really is great to be supported by Xbox.

Thanks to the new Kinect-less SKU’s, Insomniac will also be looking further on how to improve the game’s performance. “We are certainly going to be looking into that and ways to optimize but again the emphasis is on a big, grand spectacle along with unprecedented amount of stuff happening on screen and making sure frame rate does not suffer,” Schneider said.

Sunset Overdrive, releases exclusively on Xbox One on October 28, 2014.
