Sounds like we’ll get to see more of Sunset Overdrive this week.
The Sunset Overdrive Twitter account has been providing small drops of information since the game’s announcement. I’ve asked the account a few questions myself to see if I could find out some new details on the game, specifically the size of the open world that players will get to traverse through in Sunset Overdrive.
When I asked what open world video games Sunset Overdrive could be compared to in terms of size, the Twitter account replied saying that it’s a, “difficult comparison, as our world is all about traversal moves, vs some other games which have vehicles + a whole state.” The account continued, ‘it’s pretty big though, very dense, very vertical.’
As previews noted, the game world does consist of a number of different islands. I also asked the developers whether these locations would be consistent with the style of the game world or if they would vary in look and feel. The account noted that the locations do in fact “vary” in look, so that will be interesting to see when they decide to show off these new areas.
The game will not feature a day/night cycle according to the Twitter account responding to a question on the subject by saying, ” no, but there are daytime parts of the game and night time parts”
More details on the game should arrive this week according to the Twitter account as a number of press interviews and video features will air which will show some additional gameplay.
@snoopyg7 you’ll see some additional gameplay as part of press interview / video feature pieces this week
