Afterburner Studios has surpassed its USD$25,000 Kickstarter goal for its ARPG Roguelite Dreamscaper.

Described as a ‘surreal, Binding of Isaac-style Hack and Slash’, Dreamscaper centres around a young woman named Cassidy who must take on her depression by battling the nightmares within her own subconscious.

Over the course of the game, players will switch between the Dreaming and Waking worlds, battling Cassidy’s nightmares in one and following her real-life story in the other. Choices made in either setting will affect events in the other, making Dreamscaper an engaging and deeply replayable experience.

The Kickstarter campaign includes a downloadable alpha demo for players to check out and decided whether they want to back the project.

Dreamscaper is expected to be released for PC in early 2020. A Nintendo Switch port will be developed if the game manages to raise $40,000, while PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions are also mentioned as later possibilities depending on the campaign’s success.
