Those afraid of the dark will want to check out this new thriller.
Camel 101, the developer of last year’s survival-horror game Syndrome, has announced Those Who Remain, a psychological thriller that pits players against their fear of the dark. In the game, players are tasked with remaining in the light to survive while trying to figure out what happened to a small U.S. town called Dormont.
The following synopsis of the title is available on the Steam page:
“Dormont appears to be a regular and typical American town at first glance, but it is however cursed by a demon who shrouded everything in darkness.
“Most of the town’s population has been trapped inside the darkness, with no means of escape.
“Edward Turner is just an ordinary man with a troubled past, who arrives in the wrong place at the wrong time. But he soon finds out that something is very wrong in Dormont.
There are strange creatures roaming in the dark, killing everyone that gets close. The only way to survive is by staying in the light.”
Camel 101’s previous release, Syndrome, launched to mixed reviews, but this new title seems much more intriguing and original. Those Who Remain is planned for a 2018 release on the PC.
