OtherSide Entertainment showed off the first teaser for System Shock 3 during Unity’s keynote at this week’s Game Developers Conference.

OnlySP broke news about this game’s reveal way back in 2015, but fans are just now getting a peek at some of its first official media.

Despite recently losing its publisher, Starbreeze Studios, the team behind the third installment to this series remains optimistic. Warren Spector, a producer for the original System Shock, had the following to say in a recent update posted to the OtherSide blog:

“We parted ways with Starbreeze (amicably), which means we are in the process of lining up a new publishing partner. Happily, given the pedigree of System Shock and the progress we’ve made so far, there’s already a lot of interest. Has the situation affected development? Not really. The team is still, as we say, ‘psyched and cranking’—in other words, continuing as normal. I’m confident we can bring System Shock 3 to market and have it take its place as a leading title in the immersive simulation genre.”

As far as gameplay or a look into what System Shock 3 has to offer goes, the teaser is shallow, but confirms that SHODAN is making yet another return. The footage in the video is described as “pre-alpha,” and you can check it out for yourself here:

A release date or list of supported platforms has yet to be announced for System Shock 3, but the game is confirmed for a PC release.
