Interactive Fate’s roguelike spaceship simulator Shortest Trip To Earth has left Early Access and is now available as a full release.
While it may look an awful lot like other indie ship sims such as FTL: Faster Than Light, this game is far more involved. Players have to manage every aspect of their ship, from the needs of their crew to upgrades for the various different modules. Combat is also deeper, requiring usersto target specific parts of enemy ships to disable important functions.
With a heavy focus on exploration, Shortest Trip To Earth sees the player trying to escape from an alien threat on the way back to Earth. Along the way, they will encounter a wide range of enemies and have to keep everyone on board your ship happy. A collection of scenarios also add depth and flavour, demanding varied responses to dynamic events.
Shortest Trip To Earth has only been in Early Access for 10 months. During that time the developer has introduced a number of new ships, sectors, and enemies. To celebrate the release, the game is currently available on Steam with a 15% discount until August 23.
