Following a pre-order-based exclusivity period, Tekken 7 bonus character Eliza and new cosmetic items will become available to everyone on July 28.
During the MASTERCUP Tekken Fight club stream, Bandai Namco revealed that Eliza will be available for purchase on PlayStation Store, Steam, and Xbox Games Store for ¥500 or around USD$5, reports Avoiding the Puddle. The sleepyhead vampire, who is one of two playable characters with a meter mechanic, is the first DLC character to be sold in Tekken 7. Bandai Namco previously promised to make her available for purchase 30 days after the game launched, though that took longer than expected.
Aside from being playable in offline and online battles, Eliza has a character episode that can be unlocked by playing through the Mishima Saga story.
The launch of Eliza also coincides with 10 free pieces of Taiko no Tatsujin cosmetic items that were previously implemented into Tekken 7: Fated Retribution (the arcade version of the game). This DLC pack includes items from Tekken’s collaboration with Taiko No Tatsujin, a rhythm game series also created by Bandai Namco. Apart from new outfits, this DLC includes new player panels, icons, life bars, hit sparks, and sound effects. As with Tekken 7’s Japan Pro Wrestling collaboration, the new cosmetic items will likely be usable by all characters.
At present, Eliza and the Taitko No Tatsujin DLC pack have only been confirmed for a Japanese release on July 28, with no official word on a Western launch.
After this first content drop, the next pieces of DLC are the ‘Tekken Bowl’ mini-game scheduled for Summer, free character panels made by renowned artists sometime in September, Howard Geese from Fatal Fury in Winter, and an unnamed guest character in Spring 2018. All these paid DLC items are available to season pass holders regardless of platform.
