A new rhythm game called Thumper is on its way to the PS4 in 2016. Described as “rhythm violence”, you play as a “space beetle” and assault giant evil faces with visceral rhythmic action. The game is developed by Drool LLC, a two-man team composed of Harmonix alumni with a brutal vision.

The game emphasizes simplicity and catharsis through a sense of violent motion. “With one analog stick and one button, you control a space beetle while hurtling through stunning and treacherous worlds.  Each rhythmic hit, crash, and impact is interwoven with an original soundtrack by Brian Gibson of the acclaimed noise-rock band Lightning Bolt.”

There’s a small wealth of knowledge about the game on PlayStation.com, and you can keep up with the game, as well as its numerous award nominations, at Drool’s official website.
