Some new scans of a preview for The Order: 1886 have leaked online this morning, revealing some new information on the game. While I don’t have the time to do a full translation of the scan, I’ve translated a few details from the combat section.

According to the preview, The Order: 1886 will have combat that is very similar to The Last of Us in terms of gameplay and brutality. While the translation can be a bit hit and miss at times, the preview details Galahad taking out an enemy in hand-to-hand combat. According to the preview, Galahad strikes the enemy in the face with the butt of his rifle and then slams the enemies head into a wall. In another combat sequence, a QTE event pops up, giving the player a few seconds to counter an attack by clicking the triangle button. If pressed in time, Galahad will throw the enemy to the ground and jump onto it, plunging a knife into its chest in the process.

After having killed two enemies Galahad leaves his blanket and began to run, vault while bullets fly around him. He jumps into the void and throws himself on the back of a enemy. Follows a brutal hand-to-body. Here, ferocity of The Last of Us After a rifle butt in the face, Galahad grabs the head of his enemy and throws against a wall. We also think Heavy Rain with usage QTE during action … As time passes slowly, the player only has a few seconds to press Triangle and push his assailant to the ground, Galahad then launches on him, the camera passing over his face. The, once again, time slows down. And while the knight remains enemi floor plate, we must look around to see heros quo do. Here, a knife, Galahds in saissit violently and plant the blade into the tra-chee his opponent.

As I said, the translation is a bit off, but we did our best to get what details we could out of it.

  1. It says ‘ferocity of The Last of Us’ may just mean a similarity in the violence?

    1. I’d believe so. The way the combat plays out is what is similar to TLOU and Heavy Rain according to the preview, but I think they were just relating QTE’s to Heavy Rain. The combat in general, in the way they explained it seems to pan out how TLOU us played with some more slow-mo elements.

  3. Sounds visceral. I like it. I just hope that it is as functional as it has been in TLoU and Uncharted. Most shooter orientated games incorporate hand-to-hand combat, but do so in a way that is just terrible. Can’t think of too many games that actually get it right, to be honest, but The Order may yet be one.
