Publisher Private Division has countered reports from earlier this week that the highly anticipated The Outer Worlds would not support 4K on Sony’s PlayStation 4 Pro.
According to Windows Central, a representative of the game’s public relations firm ‘confirmed’ that the title will not support any graphical enhancements on PlayStation 4 Pro, saying the game is “4K on Xbox One, no enhancements for PS4 Pro.”
However, Private Division has since publicly refuted the suggestion.
Taking to Twitter, the company confirmed that the PS4 Pro version will have a native 1440p resolution, upscaling to 4K. This is in contrast to the Xbox One X and PC versions, which will natively support 4K.
The @OuterWorlds is enhanced for both Xbox One X and PS4 Pro. It includes 4K textures and resolution on Xbox One X and PC, and upsamples to 4K from 1440p on PS4 Pro. It looks great across all platforms and we’re excited for players to experience The Outer Worlds on October 25th.
