The Vanishing of Ethan Carter – No Plans for DLC, “Designed to be a Full Experience”

Published

The Astronauts’ upcoming mystery game The Vanishing of Ethan Carter is promising to deliver a strong story based single player experience for players. We recently talked to Adrien Chmielarz from The Astronauts about The Vanishing of Ethan Carter, and how the story would be presented to players.

Chmielarz informed us that their focus on story would result in a full and complete experience. “The game was designed to be a full experience.” Chmielarz told us. He expanded, saying that while he’ll never say never, at this point in time there are “absolutely zero plans” to expand or extend the storyline through the creation of DLC, and that he “truly highly doubt[s] there’s going to be any DLC”.

We’re yet to see if The Vanishing of Ethan Carter being created with this vision in mind will result in a stronger narrative. It does sound like The Astronauts are dedicated to delivering a focus on story. The Vanishing of Ethan Carter is set to release in 2014. Look out for our full interview with The Astronauts about The Vanishing of Ethan Carter later this week.

Digimon Survive

The opening movie for Bandai Namco’s survival strategy game, Digimon Survive, has been released.

The opening was first shown exclusively at the “Future of Digimon” panel at Anime Expo 2019 back on July 6. The opening shows an earthquake that has hit Kanobe City, as well as some ominous red eyes (presumably Digimon) surrounding an old man in a forest. Near the end, the main character, Takuma, sees a mysterious silhouette of a girl, and the opening finishes with her singing.

Digimon Survive follows Takuma and his companion, Agumon, as they make decisions to stay alive and escape a bizarre dimension.

Digimon Survive will release on PC, PlayStation 4, Switch, and Xbox One in 2020.
