These Unreal Engine 4 Environmental Shots are Absolutley Stunning

I don’t use the word “stunning” very often for the sake of sounding like a hit bait title, but man, these shots literally define the word stunning.

A developer using Unreal Engine 4 has created some of the most realistic looking environments I’ve seen to date. Below you will find images that almost look like real-life and really showcase the potential of what Unreal Engine 4 can do. The user who made these shots, RyanWatkins, explains how he made this environmental shot.

Hello Everyone, Just wanted share some of my recent environment work with Unreal. The modular rocks are created using Photoscan and Zbrush. Landscape created with World Machine and imported as a height map into unreal.

Checkout the screenshots below and let us know what you think in the comments. Some other developers are using this scanning technology to create their environments as well, but I’m not sure if they’ll look THAT good. The Vanishing of Ethan Carter, as well as the upcoming FPS Get Even are both using scanning tech for their environments. This is easily some of the most exciting graphical technology that’s become available, open world developers are really going to want to start using this to create the most realistic environments possible.
