A developer using Unreal Engine 4 has created some of the most realistic looking environments I’ve seen to date. Some other developers are using this scanning technology to create their environments as well, but I’m not sure if they’ll look THAT good. The Vanishing of Ethan Carter, as well as the upcoming FPS Get Even are both using scanning tech for their environments. This is easily some of the most exciting graphical technology that’s become available, open world developers are really going to want to start using this to create the most realistic environments possible.
