A long time has passed since I last provided you with an update on the internal situation here at OnlySP, so I think it’s long overdue. First of all, I want to thank each and every one of you for taking the time to check out the website and this post. In many cases, we may only know you from your clicks, but we truly appreciate your patronage. After all, everything we do is for you.
Following on from that, I want also to thank the fantastic PR partners we have across the world for the opportunities we have to prepare interviews, previews, reviews, and all the other coverage we provide. I know that we’re often a little slow with our coverage and that can mean that our efforts may not align with your plans, but we always strive to do our best.
With my gratitude out of the way, my attention must turn to OnlySP. I’ll confess, 2017 was a difficult year. Many of our team members went through personal turmoil, our coverage was interrupted, and we also had some behind-the-scenes troubles, but I’m not going to bore you with details. This post is about looking forward.
To that end, first, I’m happy to announce that we’ve been looking to bring more writers on board. Our new Deputy Editor, Rhain Radford-Burns came aboard at the end of last year, helping us immensely in the process. Meanwhile, a number of news writers have already joined and you should start seeing the fruits of their labours in the very near future, and we’re nearing the final selection process for new features staff, so you’ll hopefully see more regular big-ticket pieces on the site also. Perhaps most exciting for some, after appointing Arturo Bory as our Media Director at the end of last year, we’ve brought aboard two new video producers, and you’ll begin seeing their work on our YouTube channel later this week.
We also have some other plans in the works, but I’m not going to speak on them for fear of not having them transpire and letting you all down in the process.
To end, I want to ask each of you something simple. We need your help if we are to grow and be again the pre-eminent resource for single-player news and commentary that once we were. To pitch in, all you need to do is share our content on your social media channels or tell someone about a piece of content that you loved on OnlySP. If you like an article or want us to look further into (or stop telling you about) a game, leave us a short comment. Doing so will take an extra couple of minutes out of your day, but will be invaluable for us.
Thank you for supporting us and, as ever, enjoy your play,
