Crystal Dynamics’ 2013 remake of the Tomb Raider franchise will finally be coming to the Mac platform today. Tomb Raider will be priced at $49.99 (North America), £34.99 (including VAT) in the UK and €44.99 (including VAT) in European countries.

Tomb Raider gives players the origin of Lara Croft’s adventures, as she explores the island of Yamatai and saves her friends from Hunters.

If you are a Mac user and have not tried this title out yet, I strongly recommend it as the game has outstanding graphics, an intense story, fun third person shooting/platforming mechanics, in-depth sound design and a few great puzzles here and there. I’m not alone with that opinion either as Chris Hixson from OnlySP previously reviewed the game with a score of 9/10 from it’s Xbox 360 version, praising it for “being a masterfully crafted experience with an emotionally charged narrative.”

While this is not the Definitive Edition, Tomb Raider should be considered as an excellent addition to the Mac platform despite a somewhat steep price tag. The game will be available on Feral Interactive’s digital store and the Mac App Store.
