Troy Baker has revealed that he “would love to come back” to reprise his role as Rhys in Borderlands 3.
In an exclusive interview with OnlySP at Supanova Comic Con & Gaming, Baker was asked about the comments he had made the week prior about not returning to the game.
“I said I would love to come back,” Baker started. “They [Gearbox Software] said I’m not coming back.”
Baker continued, “Their timeline tells an interesting story. I think it’s interesting that Randy Pitchford tweeted out that I turned it down, and then he said he heard that I turned it down. I would fact check before I tweeted out to the internet.”
Baker is referring to the tweets from Gearbox CEO Randy Pitchford, which state that Baker had turned down the role in Borderlands 3. Baker’s response, however, adds even more confusion to the situation.
Nolan North—who was sitting alongside Baker during OnlySP’s interview—also questioned the whereabouts of August (the character voiced by North in Tales from the Borderlands) and Hugo Vasquez (voiced by Patrick Warburton).
