The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess HD will be cosying up inside your WiiU’s disc drive (or hard drive if you get it off the eshop) on March 4.
To celebrate the shiny new re-release of arguably the darkest game in Zelda’s darkest timeline Nintendo have released a new launch trailer giving you one final tantalizing teaser of the ‘Definitive edition’ of the game before you get your own grubby mits on it this Friday.
Interestingly it’s the original GameCube version of the game, not the much more widely available Wii port of Twilight Princess which has received a face lift. This means the wiimote and nunchuck controls are gone, replaced with a scheme similar to Wind Waker HD which includes inventory and map management on the gamepad screen and the ability switch links gear on the fly without pausing the game.
The game will also feature amiibo support with a new Wolf Link amiibo packed in with the limited edition unlocking a new battle arena, created specifically for the re-release. While previously released Link and Zelda amiibo will provide you with additional health and ammo by tapping them on the pad during play, Gannondorf doubles enemy damage and halves your health assumedly because you’re a glutton for punishment.
Veterans of the Wii version will also notice that the entire game will be mirrored, making it feel fresh and new, or just a little bit disorientating. Most importantly, Link is left handed again.
