Nintendo and Ubisoft Open to More Crossovers

Following the huge success of Mario + Rabbids: Kingdom Battle, Ubisoft has suggested that it is open to more Nintendo crossovers in a new poll.

Twitter user Brybry, whose tweet is embedded below, showed off a poll sent by Ubisoft asking fans what Nintendo characters they were interested in:

Included are a host of fan favourites, including Bowser, Mario, Luigi, and Princess Peach. While nothing has been confirmed, this open example of market research by Ubisoft certainly indicates that new games are on the way.

An obvious crossover between these platformer-focused characters and Ubisoft would be Rayman – who wouldn’t love a game the centers around the escapades of Luigi and Rayman, for example?

Either way, the business relationship between Ubisoft and Nintendo looks to prosper well into the future. Mario + Rabbids was a huge success, with the game receiving an extensive Donkey Kong expansion in late June.

Their next joint title, Starlink: Battle for Atlas, launches on October 16 on PlayStation 4, Switch, and Xbox One.

Stalker 2 is Not A Revived Version of the Cancelled 2012 Project

Stalker 2

Stalker 2 has been confirmed as an entirely new project that has no basis on the cancelled 2012 sequel.

Roughly a decade ago, fans were excited when Stalker 2 was announced. Unfortunately, in 2012, Ukrainian developers GSC Games World was shut down and all progress on the sequel was put on hold.

All went quiet until 2014 where the company resurfaced and announced that development on a version of Stalker 2 was underway. Despite a developer build for the original Stalker 2 making its way onto the web, GSC Games World chose to start from scratch and create an entirely new AAA experience for the series.

GSC Games World has so far not stated why the decision was made to start from the beginning, aside from the assurance that the new game is currently in development and will hopefully hit stores in 2021.
