Next Major Visage Early Access Update Delayed to Enhance Replayability

As fans may have already guessed, the release date for the next chapter of psychological horror game Visage has been pushed back beyond its original estimate.

After previously hoping for an early February release window, developer SadSquare Studio has again missed its projected timeframe. The new estimate for launch is a vague “soon.”

However, the postponement comes with the best of intentions. SadSquare notes that the first chapter did not live up to internal expectations about replayability, and a redesign of the second chapter will seek to remedy that.

The developers also note that the second chapter will be the last of the major Early Access updates, with the final two chapters available at the full release.

Meanwhile, the team has been accepted as a development partner of both Microsoft and Sony, with console ports already in the works. However, the Early Access version will not be coming to either the PlayStation 4 or Xbox One. As a consolation for Kickstarter backers who opted for the console version, SadSquare has offered PC keys to ensure access to the pre-release version.

Visage launched to Steam Early Access in October last year and has received a “Very Positive” rating on the platform since then.
