Fresh off the heels of recent Microsoft studio acquisitions, the company is looking to bolster Xbox exclusives in 2020.
After purchasing several companies earlier in the year, Xbox Game Studios now boasts over 15 development studios. During an interview with GamesRadar+, the head of Xbox Game Studios, Matt Booty, discussed the plans moving forward into 2020.
“We feel really good heading into 2020,” said Booty. “We’ve got a goal of being able to deliver a game, roughly, every three to four months.”
The goal is to begin the radical churn out of games for the upcoming release of Microsoft’s new console, Project Scarlett. Booty confirmed that any first-party title announced before the end of the year would also be available on Project Scarlett.
Booty also stresses that the team has not lost focus on working with third-party developers as well. Previously unavailable franchises such as Kingdom Hearts and Final Fantasy are also making their way over to Xbox as well.
